Further enrichment days planned
Challenger Troop CIC in association with Firepower, The Royal Artillery Museum is pleased to announce further Enrichment Days for KS2, 3 and 4 students – a unique combination of high-energy team challenges and inspirational stories from times of conflict.
These days offer a practical, immersive and enquiry-led approach, and provide the opportunity for participants to develop conflict resolution and teamwork skills and to improve their communication skills and confidence.
During the day each team will complete a series of challenges led by our instructors in ‘challenge zones’ set in a courtyard within one of Woolwich Arsenal’s historic 19th-century former munitions buildings. These challenges can include:
- Obstacle Course
- Command Task
- Drill Challenge
- Relay Challenge
- Team Challenge
In between team challenges, small groups of students get the opportunity to learn more about Firepower’s collections through learning sessions with museum staff. With your input we’ll tailor the subject matter, themes or century to support what is being studied back in class. This programme is designed to complement the National Curriculum.
The day will take pupils out of their everyday comfort zones in a fun way, fully supported at all times by experienced instructors and professional museum staff – and when the children succeed, everybody celebrates!
Dates available include:
- 19th March
- 23rd April
- 30th April
Costs: Pupils £8.50 each. There is no charge for accompanying staff/helpers. Drinks are provided, please bring packed lunch, waterproof jackets and outdoor shoes.
To Book: please call 0845 5485070 or email enquiries@challengertroop.org quoting ‘Firepower Enrichment’ in the subject field.
