Fabulous Fundraising
Congratulations to the 6 students from Ramsden Hall Academy, Billericay, who undertook their sponsored challenge today. They decided to take on the Challenge Course – not just once but as many times as possible in 1 hour. As if that wasn’t tough enough, they decided that they would run the last lap as a team carrying the Challenger Troop mascot, which is a life-size, fully clothed mannequin, that we use in our first aid and casualty evacuation exercises.
The instructors all agreed that the boys all worked extremely hard; pushing themselves and really showing their grit and determination. Their teachers also came along to show their support, which really helped the students push harder.
LM said “We chose to raise money for the Multiple Sclerosis Society as my mum is sufferer. Today was really challenging, I would have given up after lap 5 but I kept going because I was doing this for my mum!”
Challenger Troop Instructor Sgt Hannis said, “to see all the effort these boys put in, was remarkable and left us all feeling very proud”.
Monies are still being collected, at the time of writing, the boys have raised a fabulous £105. The final sum will be announced at their forthcoming awards evening next month.
