Challenger Troop CIC is the new KCC chairman’s ‘Charitable Organisation of the Year’

We are delighted to announce that we have been chosen as the new Kent County Council’s chairman’s ‘Charitable Organisation of the Year’. Mr Tom Gates, who took over the role from Mike Harrison last month, has chosen Challenger Troop because he specifically wants to improve the opportunities and life chances for disengaged youth within the county and feels that our proven track record in youth engagement definitely meet that criteria.

Mr Gates said, “I have been impressed with Challenger Troop’s commitment and unwavering belief in a young person’s capacity to change. I have seen time and time again how they have turned young people’s lives around”.

Simon Dean, founder and CEO, said, “We are thrilled and delighted to have been chosen this year. It is a terrific endorsement of what we do and will allow us to extend our work in the future. We are actively increasing the number of parent and family engagement opportunities both on our core and bespoke programmes, so that we are better able to meet the holistic needs of not just the child, but the family unit as a whole.”
