Participants Celebrate with Lord Nash
More than 20 local young people were congratulated for their achievements by Schools’ Minister, Lord Nash at a special celebration event on Tuesday 15th July 2014 at Pimlico Academy, London.
In a small private celebration, young people from the ages of 9 to 14, from three participating schools, including Pimlico Academy, St John Bosco and Falconbrook Primary school came together in a joint ceremony in the presence of Lord Nash, teachers, head teachers, family and friends at Pimlico Academy to celebrate just how much of an impact Challenger Troop’s programmes have made.
The Minister presented certificates and medals of achievement to the students following their completion of our 6 or a 12-week outward bound programme of activities.
Steve Taylor, teacher at Pimlico Academy who accompanied the young students, says: “The Challenger Troop programme is a brilliant opportunity for young people to learn in a different environment, they have achieved a great deal and developed new skills.”
Simon Dean, Founder and CEO of Challenger Troop, said: “We are so proud of the young people who complete our programmes. We see so many of them make massive improvements in their behaviour and improve their engagement in schools, and go on to make progress beyond their expectations.”
