The opportunity came through Keith Marden, Educational Consultant and Director at Challenger Troop and Trustee at Nourish. “I saw a wonderful opportunity to support the outstanding work being carried out by the Nourish Foodbank team. Their efforts are not only providing very needy families with the chance to enjoy nutritious food, but also the chance to improve their lives. For the Challenger Troop students it gives them a practical experience helping others less fortunate than themselves”.
Nourish Foodbank was founded in 2012 and in the first three months distributed 5-10 bags of food each week to families and individuals in need in the Tunbridge Wells area, including Southborough, Rusthall, Tonbridge, Crowborough and Wadhurst. They are currently delivering over 30 foodbags each week and believe that this will increase as pressure on local services and fuel costs remain high.
